FAQs

Q?

Do I need to vacuum prior to your arrival?

A.

You may do some light vacuuming in high-traffic areas before our arrival, however it is not necessary.  If need be, we can pass over  prior to cleaning.  Our equipment is constantly vacuuming while we work, as well.

Q?

Do you clean vehicles?

A.

We will clean the interiors of your boats, RV's, planes, and more from top to bottom - carpets, leather, upholstery, drapes, tile & grout, etc.  Any service we offer can be applied to these large vehicles.  For smaller vehicles like cars and trucks, we recommend looking into a detailing service.

Q?

Will there be an odor?

A.

All cleaning solutions that we use are completely odor-free.  They don't have any perfume additives to make things "smell good", so the only thing you'll smell is CLEAN!

Q?

How long until I can walk on my floors, or sit on my furniture?

A.

General dry time varies depending on what is being cleaned.

Our carpet and area rug cleaning services are very low moisture, and most residual water will be removed by our powerful, truck-powered vacuums as we are cleaning.  Carpets will be damp to the touch for about three hours after the cleaning has been completed.  They are safe to walk on with socks or bare feet.  It is not recommended to walk on freshly cleaned carpets with outdoor shoes until they have completely dried.

Upholstered furniture, drapes, and tapestries will also be generally dry in around three hours, depending on the material.

Hardwood floors and tile are completely dry as soon as we have completed cleaning them.  You may walk on them immediately.  Leather will also be completely dry upon the completion of its cleaning.

Q?

How long will a cleaning take?

A.

Generally, the timetable of a cleaning depends on what is being cleaned, the size of the area being cleaned and the process(es) we will use.  Typically, it should not take more than 1-3 hours for us to complete your service.  A JoeCleans team member will help you select a cleaning regimen that will work for you and your availability.

Q?

Should I move furniture prior to a cleaning?

A.

Prior to our arrival, we will ask you to move smaller items - such as knickknacks and table lamps. Our cleaners will carefully move any large furniture necessary to complete the cleaning of your home or office. Afterwards, we will return the pieces of furniture to their rightful spots.

Q?

Do you pick up area rugs?

A.

You can either drop off your area rug in-plant, or we can clean any area rugs you may have at your home, too - whichever is most convenient for you.  When you drop off your rug to be cleaned, it will typically be ready for pickup in 7-10 days, dried, rolled, and wrapped.

Q?

How often should I look into professional cleaning?

A.

When considering professionally cleaning carpets, area rugs, wood floors, and tile & grout, it is recommended to have them cleaned once every 6-12 months, depending on whether a home has children or pets, and the amount of traffic these areas experience. Yearly or bi-yearly cleaning protects your investment, extends the life of your carpet, wood, or tile, and improves the quality of your home or office. Soiled floors not only look less than desirable, but they are bad for your health, too. Regular cleaning penetrates deep into the fibers of your carpets, or the porous grout lines of your tile, removing bacteria, allergens, and pollutants that can be harmful to you, your family, clients, or employees. Hardwood floors can be revived to their original, finished shine.

It is recommended to have your upholstered furniture and leather cleaned every 12-24 months.   Again, frequency of cleaning is contingent on children, pets, and amount of traffic.  Regular cleaning of upholstery in this time frame leaves you with fresh, clean furniture for comfort or for show.

Drapery and tapestries can be cleaned every 12-24 months depending on the environment they are in.
